By using RetroIRC — as a guest, registered user, or subscriber — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please disconnect (no hard feelings).

▸ ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 13 years old to use RetroIRC. If you're under the age required to consent to these terms in your country, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

▸ ACCOUNTS & GUEST ACCESS

You can browse and chat as a guest, or register an account for profiles, guestbooks, and the leaderboard. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secret and for everything that happens under your handle. Pick a username you can live with — this is the internet, it follows you.

▸ ACCEPTABLE USE / CODE OF CONDUCT

Keep it friendly, like a good channel op would. You may not:

• Harass, threaten, or bully other users.
• Post hate speech or discriminatory content.
• Spam, flood channels, or advertise without permission.
• Post illegal content or use the service for illegal activity.
• Impersonate staff, exploit bugs, or try to break the service.

▸ MODERATION RIGHTS

Our staff and moderators may warn, kick, mute, or ban users and remove content that violates these terms — at our discretion, with or without notice. We aim to be fair, but keeping the community safe comes first.

▸ USER CONTENT LICENSE

You own what you write — messages, guestbook entries, profile content. By posting it, you grant RetroIRC a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and transmit that content so the service can actually work (e.g., showing your message to the room). You're responsible for what you post.

▸ SUBSCRIPTIONS & BILLING

• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your card details.
• Subscriptions (Founders Club at $4.99/mo or $39/yr, Premium at $7.99/mo or $69/yr) auto-renew until cancelled.
• Cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep your perks until then.
• Founders Club rate lock: your price stays locked as long as your subscription remains continuously active. Cancel and rejoin later, and the then-current price applies.
• No refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

▸ TERMINATION

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we terminate a paid account without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of your subscription.

▸ DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

RetroIRC is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service (it's themed after dial-up, after all). To the maximum extent permitted by law, RetroIRC and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

▸ GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction — to be determined], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

▸ CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date and post a notice for significant changes. Continuing to use RetroIRC after changes means you accept them.
